Earth Hour Failure or Success

Wow the funda was good and I thank each n every person who participated in that.
At least it helped in saving some amount of electricity. At 8.30 pm on Saturday I could see lights turning of and more or it was quite successful in our neighborhood and the fact that it's not that hot helped a lot. People were quite happy to come out and get some air in the parks.

I took off on my bike just to see how it is to see the city in Darkness. To my surprise there was no Darkness at all. Thanks to big companies and shops, they were just happy to get along their daily business. This I thought would be ignorance of the fact that it's an earth hour. What surprised me the most or rather shocked me was the "Hoardings". Then I thought with money you can get away with anything. What I can't understand is that what specific use this hoardings has to society which can gobble up so much electricity.

A minimum of 6-7 neon bulbs for 12 hrs a day do eats away into the common man's power supply. But then, the so called common man dont have that much money I suppose. Why the government is so careless, why they cant categorize the use of electricity. Why they allow these useless advertisements to run away with power. May be the government itself is dependents on this MNC's for their cash crunched treasury. Still they do pass over the burden to the working class by hiking taxes, increasing price of basic commodities. More than anything why do people has to bear all these. Why can't they protest?(no body has time). Have they forgot that they do have rights or they dont want to remember that at all. No use I suppose, u read this, think for sometime and then leave it. All that we have to do is to adjust our budget, why bother getting into some complications by protesting. Carry on the world is as good as it seems but remember it will change and these bloody politicians will make sure that it changes. Enough of bothering, now get back to your work...

Rain Rain......

Rain rain!!!!!!!!!!!!
where have you gone..
It's so hot and humid,
Come and drench us all ...

Of Course Rain God has turned his deaf ears to Mumbai..
It's been one week that it has rained and it gradually shoot up the temperature..
It's hot in night and humid in day and sweating is all that I do....
It's so cool and calm feeling when it rains...dunno why sleeps creep in from everywhere...
And in the morning I don wanna be out of my bed ......
But anyway I have to go office..even if it rains or if it shines...
It's true that I hate getting wet on my way to office but there are times when I can't do much and had to get totally drenched and reach office in those wet clothes..

And when I am inside my room already chilled with AC I felt I should have remained at home..
Felt like as if I have landed directly in a tropical rain forest.. so cool so chilling when it rains..
But there are no trees at all...(after all it's an office :) ...)
Instead there were cabinets , PC's, tables and lot other things.. It's an Computerised Jungle...
And rain forest comes with lot of insects, mosquitoes and lot other organisms which makes it difficult to stay..But in here we have software BUGS and they are more than enough to substitute all of them.. frankly it's more dangerous than those in real jungles.....

I love rain more than I hate getting wet to office..
but I hate rain but less than I love getting drenched....
Anyways logic is same....

Hey now two days after I started writing this article..Guess what it started raining....
Now I can say:God do listen..... " Woh sabki sunta hai par Jawab apni marzi se hi deta hai"
....(He listens to everybody but answer when he feels to do so.... :) hope that's not a sarcastic humour on GOD..............

Mother Nature's Call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On my way to office I saw a banner hanging upside down which has written on it-"Melting Ice - A Hot Topic".Below it was written World Environment Day, June 5.That day has gone long ago, so we will think about it next year.Nowadays we need an intimidation to know when to take care of nature and only on this day we need to have any concern about the Nature. Long scheduled meetings will be held, then rally's will be arranged and all this only on that particular day. Then slowly we get us engaged into other things that has nothing to do with nature preservation. The same person who was giving an unending lecture on Nature preservation will be using ultra modern equipments that will inturn damamge the nature's integrity.

Why should we be concerned about the nature after all? We still take things for granted from Nature. How come a single ecosystem can manage all the needs of the ever consuming nature of Human beings? It cannot be labelled as needs,it is pure greed of the humans that has depleted the cradle of nature into nothing. When will human get satisfied? Never. Ya, the Ice is melting , nowadays this topic is frequently seen on the front page. But what did we do about tht, we just feel sorry for that and then continue with what we do daily. Even if we want to do something, a simple feeling that "what can I as an individual can do to change things? Nothing". And that's the end of everything.

Whatever happens Science will find a solution to all the problems, thinking this way we tend to forget that this is the same science which has pushed us to this extreme. The industrialisation, the fast forward lifestyle everything has a major part to play in this growing unstability of Nature to sustain things. In the G8 summit, the EU(European Union) has given the world 15 years time to reverse the effects that was caused due to rapid industrialisation for past 2-3 centuries. Is it possible? No. How can we change things that happened over 300 years in just 15 years, but we can buy some more time by following the simple rules of life. Sharing means of transport, car pooling, saving electricity and water and lot of other things that we find daily in our newspapers and so on.Dont you think we have a responsibility towards the mother Nature. To take care of her so that our next generation can breathe freely and live. Dont you think we have a moral responsibilty to give them the nature's asset that our great grandfathers had left for us. Dont we?? Why wait for a new year to think about a resolution? Can't we start from today? From now itself?? Can't we??
